Smooth dark chocolate fudge sandwiched by 2 layers of not-too-sweet moist dark chocolate cake. With the chocolate flavour, sugar and moisture level striking the right balance, you will not feel overpowered by the cake. At least, we can eat our fill without feeling 'sick'. We have a suspicion that the cake is steamed instead of baked, judging by the moisture level and the texture. So is the chocolate really unique? Sorry, we cannot vouch for that, as we are really no chocolate connoisseurs.
Our verdict? We like the cake.

Birthday cake for Shin. Decided to try something "different". Well, we know chocolate cakes ain't anything unique. But considering we have been having cakes from the same few cake shops for years, we decided to go for a change. Heard about this particular brand of cakes, so ordered one 6" All Chocolate Cake. They do have 2 other choices: Chocolate Banana and Chocolate Rum & Cherry but we decided to have the original dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate fudge.
As understood from their website, they have "our own proprietary recipe of chocolate packed to our strict specifications of cocoa bean grade and percentage of cocoa to cocoa butter," exclusive to them. In a sense, they are trying to say that the taste of their chocolate cake is unique. So a tasting of their cake is in order.
2 signature 'marketing gimmicks' of theirs is that they do not display the cakes they sell at the counters and they do not sell cakes in slices. In addition, they have just one design for most of their cakes: that of chocolate fudge spread all over the cake. If you need any wordings, they can do it on the spot in the store itself, just like ours.
Our verdict? We like the cake.
